Ventura Emergency Rental Assistance Program 2026: Who Qualifies and How to Apply

*Update *This program no longer has funds available. The program may return next year.

If you’re struggling to keep up with rent or utility payments in Ventura, there’s a new program you should know about.

The City of Ventura Emergency Rental Assistance Program is now open, offering financial support to tenants facing hardship. With limited funding and a first-come, first-served structure, understanding how this program works and whether you qualify is critical.

What Is the Ventura Emergency Rental Assistance Program?

The City of Ventura has launched this program to help local renters who are behind on housing costs. The goal is simple: reduce evictions and help residents remain housed during financial hardship.

This program provides short-term financial relief to eligible tenants within Ventura city limits.

How Much Assistance Can You Receive?

Qualified applicants may receive:

  • Up to three (3) months of rent and/or utility payments
  • Assistance with security deposits for a new rental unit
  • Support for tenants facing imminent eviction

This makes the program especially valuable for renters trying to stabilize their situation or transition into a new home.

To be eligible for the Ventura rental assistance program, applicants must meet several requirements:
